We currently require a Supply Chain Specialist to join our team. This is a new strategic role for our organization, and requires a strong advocate of change. As Supply Chain Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying, negotiating and utilizing vendors to ensure the organization is operating at maximum efficiency and delivering maximum value to both internal and external customers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Research potential vendors in the marketplace
  • Manage vendors for product, service, freight and other major spend categories
  • Source requirements; participate in vendor selection and vendor agreements
  • Develop, implement, monitor and report on vendor performance metrics
  • Visit and perform assessments on potential key vendors
  • Ensure procurement processes are followed throughout the organization
  • Understand market forces and forecast impact on major spend categories
  • Support and drive data based decision making
  • Oversee the management of optimum  inventory levels
  • Communicate with internal and external customers to assess service needs
  • Deliver procurement training to branch personnel as required.
  • Place & manage  purchase orders and related activities
  • Expedite products and services as required
  • Ensure budget adherence
  • Prepare & deliver various reports as required

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a business office environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent
  • SCMP designation
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems
  • Computer software skills including Microsoft word, excel, power point
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Oral and written fluency in both English and French is required
  • Experience working in banking, financial management or professional service considered an asset
