About the Job
This position reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for organizing and directing the work flow, productivity and quality of our products, while overseeing the safety of all production staff. The candidate must be organized and have the ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment. It is a key attribute to understand mechanical and computerized equipment and effectively troubleshoot both equipment and staffing issues as they arise.
As the Production Supervisor you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day production operations, ensuring that proper procedures are being followed and deliverables stay on schedule in order to meet or exceed customer expectations. You will manage a single dayshift and the workflow of an evening shift, supervise employees, managing time sheets, performance management, and addressing employee issues. You will manage inventories, utilizations, and efficiencies. With safety as a top priority, you will ensure that safe procedures are being followed and required certificates are kept up to date. Employees will be properly trained and process improvements will be communicated in a timely manner to everyone impacted.
As the ideal candidate, you have five years of production in a manufacturing environment paired with post-secondary education, or equivalent experience. You have demonstrated your exceptional leadership skills as well as your excellent communication and interpersonal skills in past positions. You are capable of handling multiple tasks while paying close attention to detail. You must be self-motivated with the ability to positively engage staff to achieve performance targets. You have demonstrated knowledge of continuous improvement.
Proficiency with Outlook, Word and Excel, Forklift operating certificate, WHMIS, First Aid certificate and Health and Safety training are considered assets.
