SSI Consulting Solutions has partnered with our client Saeplast Americas Inc. to hire a Production Supervisor for their Saint John, New Brunswick location.

Job Overview
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor provides leadership, coaching, guidance, and direction to the operational (production & maintenance) teams. The Production Supervisor leads staff and manages manufacturing processes to ensure high standards are met for safety, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, direct and guide employees to help them achieve their maximum level of effectiveness; identifies and meets team needs for job training, health and safety and environmental standards.
- Ensure that all employees work in accordance with the OH&S standards, policies, and procedures of the company and with all applicable laws.
- Meet daily and weekly production targets, adhere to production schedules, facilitate 5S+1 Housekeeping, and ensure facility equipment is maintained up to company standards.
- Facilitate & conduct risk assessments.
- Facilitate and promote Continuous Improvement (CI) projects with team.
- Identify, recommend and/or implement changes to improve production procedures, equipment performance, working conditions and product quality.
- Work on a rotating 8-hour shift schedule (12-hour schedule as required) and organize & manage vacations, floaters & absences on shift.
- Complete daily shift reports, conduct shift change meetings, complete hazard, near miss and incident reports.
- Work with other departments to ensure that company goals and objectives as well as internal and external customer expectations are met.
Qualifications
Experience
- 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree, technical diploma, or related industry experience.
- Knowledge of OHSA and commitment to safety.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles
Skills and Capabilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient with MS software programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
- Strong leadership, organization, time management and change management skills.
- A self-driven individual who will work towards building and maintaining a strong safety and engaged workplace culture.
